Grace Kvantas has recently met all requirements necessary to become a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), the highest financial planning credential available. Earning a CFP® certificate will allow Grace to provide individuals and businesses with services related to their financial and personal goals, and is the next step in her career with Financial Symmetry.

Grace completed all seven courses required for the education portion of the certification process, though NC State University’s Certified Financial Planner course, and passed the CFP® exam in November 2015.

The certification also requires candidates to have three years of professional experience the financial services industry. Grace has already fulfilled this requirement, having joined Financial Symmetry full-time after graduating from NC State University in 2011 with a degree in Business Administration, a concentration in Finance, and a minor in Accounting.

Financial Symmetry requires its advisors to become CFP® certified as part of its commitment to provide unbiased financial advice to clients. The CFP® Board’s thorough certification process  provides a strong foundation that Financial Symmetry’s advisors will build upon, having complete theoretical and practical knowledge, and are prepared to act in their clients best interests.

“When we first hired Grace as an intern, we knew that an Advisor role was well within her reach,” says Operations Manager Heather Gudac. “As Financial Symmetry has grown, so have Grace’s responsibilities—and knowledge—making her a great addition to our Advising Team. She has helped improve our planning process greatly, and has tremendous experience of working with clients going into her new Advising role. We’re proud to have her on board and working with clients as our newest Certified Financial Planner™.”

To keep up her CFP® designation, Grace will have to complete 30 hours of continuing education and renew her credential every 2 years. Grace is also a member of NAPFA and FPA.
