Christian Polanco joined our team in January 2019 as one of our Client Service Associates. He is a direct point of contact for our clients, assisting with all steps of the financial planning process and onboarding new clients to our continuous service model. I recently asked him a few questions about himself so we can share a little bit about him with our clients:
1. Why did you decide to join FSI?
I decided to join FSI because I wanted to immerse myself in a more challenging environment with opportunities for professional growth and advancement. More importantly, to pursue a career with a firm that sees the success of their clients as their own and gives back to the community. Since my first day at FSI, I always walk out with a sense of accomplishment that my work is helping someone accomplish a goal they may have thought to be unreachable. FSI gave me an opportunity to be part of something bigger than myself.
2. What are you most excited about learning in your role with FSI?
I am most excited to learn more about the entire financial planning process from beginning to end. Specifically, building financial plans from raw data and interacting with clients. I also look forward to exchanging ideas with my coworkers on making improvements or coming up with solutions to difficult problems.
3. What are some of your favorite activities you enjoy with your friends and family?
Some of my favorites include going on road trips to new places, trying new foods, and camping in the summer. When I get together with family, karaoke is always a main event and we love to cook traditional meals together.
4. What’s your favorite vacation/ trip you’ve taken?
My favorite vacation was a recent family trip to Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. I got to water ski, go horseback riding for the first time, and we went on a two-hour white water rafting course. The highlight of the trip was quietly watching from our boat as a black bear swam across the lake.
5. Would you rather go skydiving or take a ride in a hot air balloon?
Skydiving has been on my bucket list for a while, so I would have to go with that. I’m not afraid of heights, but I’d rather have a parachute on if I’m going to be up in the clouds.
